World Peace Action Day – August 15th
We are happy to announce that NVDA will once again organise a World Peace Action Day on August 15th, a significant date marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
This initiative aims to connect as many ongoing workcamps and peace-minded individuals as possible, to reflect and act together for peace. August 15th is a memorial day that reminds us of the end of WWII. 80 years ago, countless people wished never to repeat such tragedies—yet today, violence, wars, and conflicts still continue. Through this action, we invite people around the world to strengthen their commitment to peace, even if just a little at a time.
This year’s online event will include guest speakers:
- Adli DAANA (IPYL – Palestine)
- Thazin AUNG (GIVE – Myanmar)
- An atomic bomb survivor from Japan
This action is co-organized by:
- NVDA (Network for Voluntary Development in Asia)
- NICE (Never-ending International workCamps Exchange, Japan)
- Together with CCIVS, IPYL, GIVE, and all participating NGOs, groups, and individuals.
